This Sunday marks my very first wedding anniversary to Husband!! Married friends always forewarned me how the first year is always the toughest. I'm not going to lie, it definitely hasn't been easy. I have never been so stretched, challenged, and sanctified but I know I'm a better person for it! We have an amazing support system through our family and friends, especially our beloved small group!! :)
One thing I was adamant about for our wedding was not sharing personal vows. Call me a traditionalist but there's something about reciting vows that have been repeated by millions of brides and grooms around the world that speaks to my heart. However, since I chose not to say personal vows on our wedding day I thought I'd share a few of my thoughts about Husband today..
When I randomly bumped into Husband on that fateful day of January 1, 2009 at Starbucks, I never imagined he would one day steal my heart. For one, he was my friend's younger brother. Secondly, he was in seminary studying to be a pastor. Thirdly, he was in seminary studying to be a pastor. Humbled, God knew better and opened up my heart.
Fast forward a year and a half later, we were engaged on May 13, 2010. Our wedding date was set for August 21, 2010. However, prior to our engagement I was already committed to leaving for Cambodia for a three week missions trip with our church. I was hesitant in going with our date being pushed up and everyone thought I was crazy for going right before a wedding, let alone MY wedding. Everyone except Husband, that is. He was one of the very few encouraging me to go, to experience God's love for Cambodia, and spread the good news, all one month before our wedding. Who does that?? Needless to say, I don't regret going for one second!!
Everyone and anyone who is in the wedding industry knows how much it takes up your time. Countless meetings with brides, grooms, and vendors all start adding up but I love every single second of it!! I would have never realized my love for this business had it not been for our own wedding and I definitely would not be here today if it wasn't for my supportive and sacrificial husband who actually volunteers to be my assistant!
Husband, thank you for always leading me to love & know Him more, for being my best friend, and biggest supporter. I'm so honored to be called your wife and helper.

Makeover
When I coordinated my first wedding back in March I had no idea what would lay ahead of me. I'm excited to report that I have now coordinated 3 weddings + 1 1st birthday within the past six months and have 7 weddings + 2 1st birthdays lined up for the remainder of this year and 2012!!
When I first started this blog, I thought I would mainly use it as a platform to showcase weddings and birthdays I coordinated or styled. However, as I find myself falling deeper in love with this industry, I can't help but share about the joys and struggles in my personal life as well. I'm a pretty private person so I wasn't sure of the responses I'd generate but everyone has been so kind and supportive!
It seriously makes my day when I hear how much you enjoy reading my blog :) Thank you for encouraging me with my new endeavor, especially Husband and S (my bff) who inspired and encouraged me to chase after my dreams. Although I'm still praying and contemplating if this is something I want to do full-time, I know I would not be where I am today without God gracing me with amazing clients and wonderful opportunities.

Babies & Butterflies Baby Sprinkle
Today's feature is dedicated to a dear friend of mine who is expecting baby #2 (hence, the name baby sprinkle and not shower). Today also happens to be Liza's birthday (Happy Birthday!!) Liza and I met back when we were freshmen in college and we've been friends ever since! I had the lovely honor of being one of her bridesmaids five years ago and now she is awaiting her second daughter! She is one of the funniest girls I know and an amazingly loving mom to her first daughter Audrey.
Inspired by butterfly decals from Pottery Barn for Lily's room, I chose a color palette of white on kraft paper with hints of lavender (one of her favorite colors). As hosts, we also knew we wanted the guests and mommy of honor to be able to enjoy this memorable event without having to worry about taking photos so I asked my lovely friend Sako of Sky Blue Seed to come be our guest photographer for the day. Thank you so, so much for all the beautiful images!!

We set up a guestbook station where friends could take a picture with Liza and write sweet notes for the expecting Mom |

- Wishes for Lily - We asked guests to write their hopes for Lily so Mom can read it to her when she's a bit older :) |
Dear Lily, You are already so loved and prayed for~ We are eagerly awaiting your arrival!! Please come out soon so your Mommy can eat, drink, and be merry :) Love, Auntie Jane |
