Priscilla & YoungMin - July 2, 2011

Growing up I was an extremely shy child.  I used to carry books (Sweet Valley Twins & Baby Sitters Club, of course) around with me when my family would meet with their friends because I absolutely dreaded interacting with other people.  Thankfully I grew out of my awkward stage and now one of my favorite things about working in the event industry is all the wonderful people I get to meet, whether it's my clients or vendors!

Today's wedding features Priscilla and YoungMin, a couple I've known for a while through church but didn't have the chance to befriend until I coordinated their wedding.  Their wedding was a true labor of love for the bride and groom.  From the thousand handmade paper cranes (a nod to YoungMin's youth in Japan) to the DIY photobooth station they set up using an Instax camera for guests to take pictures and scrapbook, Priscilla and YoungMin along with their family and friends, were able to pull off a beautiful wedding with lots of DIY crafts that made it all the more meaningful~

The talented Jerome Park of Jerome Park Photography and Bryan Yun of Canvas Love along with newcomers Joy Yi and Alvin Kim of TETELESTAI Visuals captured the beautiful event.  They were such a fun and energetic bunch to work with!

Celeste's Family Portrait Session

As some of you may already know, not only do I enjoy coordinating and planning weddings but I also love working with clients planning their child's first birthday parties, which is typically very popular in the Korean-American culture.

Today's feature is dedicated to the Wang family.  Meet Monah, Alfred, and their adorable daughter Celeste! I have the pleasure of working with this wonderful family for Celeste's upcoming first birthday party at The Capital Grille in Beverly Hills.  However, since their event isn't until next week I wanted to share some family portraits they took recently with the awesome Tim Park of Tim Park Photography and his lovely intern Sako Pak of Sky Blue Seed!

The adorable Celeste~

Love & Lemonade

Today's feature is dedicated to another wonderfully talented photographer, Nina of Love & Lemonade, whom I met through a wedding I coordinated back in March.  As I mentioned earlier, this wedding was so special to me because it was the wedding that catapulted me into creating "Jane: An Event Design & Coordination Co."

I'm not sure if Nina knows this but I was secretly stalking her blog so when I found out that she was going to be the photographer for Julia & Daniel's  wedding, I was beyond thrilled!  Nina is not only super talented but oh so fun to work with!  She is incredibly down to earth and has this gentle yet spunky spirit to her.

I've always heard how important it is to have personal images of yourself on websites & blogs so clients can get to know you.  When I asked Nina to take my headshots I was so glad she agreed :)  We met at Griffith National Park and had so much fun catching up with her as she snapped away on her camera.  Here are some of my favorites:

Thank you Nina!! I must admit I'm pretty awkward when it comes to being in front of a camera but I love the images you were able to capture! :)

Sky Blue Seed

Today's feature is dedicated to a dear friend whom I met through Husband while we were dating.  I remember being quite nervous when meeting her and her family for the first time because of how special they are to him.  Long time friends from Seattle, they hold a very special place in Husband's heart and now mine as well!

Sako is a wife and amazing mother of two beautiful girls, Naomi and Noelle, whose love for photography has grown over the years since their births.  She loves shooting young children and is inspired by all things nature, music, reading, and her faith which can be seen on her own blog, Sky Blue Seed.

If you're looking for someone to capture life's special moments such as giving birth to a newborn or celebrating your child's birthday, Sako is the photographer for you~  She is also currently interning with Tim Park Photography, another talented photographer.  Sako and I will be working together this weekend for a friend's baby shower, which I will definitely post pictures of in the near future.  In the mean time, enjoy the pictures below of her talented work!

Sako, thank you for being such a huge encouragement and help with starting up my own business and blog :)  Can't wait to see what's in store for you and your new photography adventures~

Hope everyone has a safe and happy 4th of July!
